ATHENE/ WANING GIBBOUS IN GEMINI

Now that the moon has reached her peak and is ready to begin her journey back into the cover of darkness we find ourselves in a Waning Gibbous in the sign of Gemini.

Gemini is a sign of publicity, public notoriety and deals heavily with the way we communicate with others.

While the Moon resides in this sign one of the major energetic pushes is to deepen our understanding of the way we are seen and received by the world around us. Since we are fresh out of Taurus energy where the energy was heavily focused on our accomplishments we must be mindful of not slipping into arrogance at this time. This may me a time where the urge to “toot your horn” may be harder to resist than usual. Before you blow your trumpet be sure to know your audience. Is this a space ready to receive you? Is it your heart or perhaps the ego that has this craving for boasting? This is a time to put your best foot forward, communicating effectively from a place of love. Mercury moves rapidly and is famous for its changeability, Venus moves slowly and carries with it a heavy dose of possessive energy. Since this Mansion is ruled by both of these planets “The Bridge” is all about differences of opinions and ideas coming together in harmony. The Bridge itself is in reference to creating a channel between individuals or modes of thinking that seem upon the surface that they are doomed to clash.

The real push with this Mansion is to seek peace where conflict and discord would simply be easier. Remember, we all carry seeds of truth just as we all carry entirely different perceptions and different life experiences. By allowing ourselves to drop the preconceived notion that we know all there is to know about a given situation we open ourselves up to compassionate new beginnings. Today’s White Moon Goddess is Athene (known by the romans as Athena or Minerva” Athena famously was born fully grown and fully armored, bursting from the eye of her Father Zeus who prior had been experiencing a terrible headache. Athene was the favorite of Zeus’ many children. This is highlighted by the fact he gave her his most well known weapon, the thunderbolt. Athena was the Goddess of War strategy and delighted in battle. Not only did she support the Greeks in the Trojan War but she joined them on the battlefield, striking terror in the hearts of their opponents. When she thought a warrior was worthy of her favor Athene willingly showed her support through action. Hercules, Perseus and Odysseus are all heroes who benefited greatly from the favor of Athene.

As Athene grew in stature she rose to become the Goddess of wisdom, her symbol being the all seeing owl, as well as the Goddess of feminine crafts. Weaving in particular was honored greatly by Athene.

VENUS/ FULL MOON IN TAURUS

Happy Full Moon!

Every Full Moon is an opportunity to say thank you for the blessings and manifestations that have come to fruition during the lunar cycle. While the moon is at her fullest, so should be our gratitude! Naturally Full Moon energy does vary depending on what zodiac sign she falls under. Today our Lunar Queen continues her reign under the sign of Taurus. The energy of today’s full moon is about basking in our worldly achievements and recognizing ourselves for our efforts.

The Taurus energy we’ve found ourselves in heralds a time where dedicated effort and consistency are paying off in physical rewards. This is a time where the taste of success should be beginning to make itself known, if not obvious. Taurus is the leading sign of indulgence and overindulgence so the energy of the moon also bears with it a particular warning. Be mindful of letting your celebration of self flood over into overindulgence. This is a time where our blessings are bountiful but can also slip through our fingers if we handle them with frivolity. For example if you see your finances are at an all time high, this is the time to celebrate and even treat yourself to something special, but carefully avoid overspending and the temptation to overindulge. A big theme of yesterday’s moon was practicing healthy relationships with our possessions and this energy carries into today’s moon as well. We mustn’t take in more than we need for satisfaction at this time or risk paying consequences to our stability.

Today’s Lunar Mansion is the “Wheel”

This Mansion presides over the last phase of Taurus and leads us into the first four degrees of Gemini. Saturn conjoining with Mercury at this time lightens its intensity and we find ourselves entering a time where the importance of communication and networking are at an all time high. As we realize we have done nearly as much as possible on our own in regards to a particular goal or manifestation the need to invite in others for a dose of collaborative dreaming becomes essential. Be willing to step outside of your comfort zones at this time. Ask for insight and guidance, be willing to incorporate inspiration from others without fearing that it will dilute the authenticity of your vision. We are stronger together and the bonds that we form under this particular Lunar Mansion can benefit us for many moons to come.

VENUS/ WAXING GIBBOUS IN TAURUS

Today’s moon is a waxing gibbous in the Fixed Earth sign Taurus. The theme of tonight’s moon is honing in on our ambitions and diving deeper into their execution. We are at a point of the Lunar manifestation cycle where if we have been working dedicatedly towards a goal we should now be beginning to reap the fruits of our labors. Now is the time to give a final push of energy to bring even more vitality towards our vision. Allow yourself to carefully discern where there may be any loose strings that need to be woven together. See if perhaps there is lingering energy that needs clearing away so that you may be launched forward. Be willing to ask for assistance by your peers or a valued mentor if you find yourself wondering what more you could possibly do to bring about your success. Today’s Moon falls under the Mansion known as “Stone” A strongly highlighted energy of the Stone mansion is a rigidity when it comes to possessions. This is beneficial time to ask ourselves where we may be holding on too tightly. This could be to outdated thought patterns, other individuals and our material belongings. By holding on too tightly we create a resistance to the natural flow and cycles of growth and manifestation. Surrender to the freedom in knowing we cannot truly own anything indefinitely & it is love not belongings that are the source of happiness. One of my favorite quotes is “we can only own that which we are willing to give away.”

*Personal belongings collect energy just as we do, this is a good time to see if there are any material possessions that you have outgrown and are ready to release. By clearing space you create more room for new energy to inhabit.

Today’s Patron Goddess is the White (Moon) Goddess Venus, known to the Greeks as Aphrodite. To the Romans Venus was the Goddess of love, beauty, marriage and laughter. Like all of our Moon Goddesses Venus was extremely multifaceted, she was known by many different names. Venus Genetrix earned her respect as the mother of the famous hero Aeneas who was the founder of the Roman people, under Venus Felix she was worshiped as the bringer of divine fortune and known as Venus Victrix she brought glory to the champion of her choosing.

Venus was married to the God Vulcan who she found repulsive. Though she was the Goddess of marriage she had countless affairs in search of satisfaction for her insatiable cravings. The most famous of her affairs was with Mars. The affair didn’t last for long in secrecy and was widely shunned with disapproval by the other Gods and Goddesses. Regardless the hot blooded dance between Venus and Mars bore many children, several were well known including Cupid and Harmonia.
